Tuolumne River Rapids

Surprisingly – to me at least – the river was strong, even in mid-august. All along the trail from Tuolumne to Glen Aulin the river rolls down long slabs of granite creating rapids that stretch on for hundreds of yards.

This spot was just below the Glen Aulin campground. The contrast of the 3 different varieties of water along with the sharp lines of granite in between caught my eye. After sunset it gets dark rather quickly out in the mountains. This shot was made as the dark rapidly took over…
