YNP – California Falls

About a mile and a half past Glen Aulin is California Falls, the first of 3 sets of water falls. As the water level is relatively low it’s pretty easy to walk right up to the water’s edge. During the spring time i can only imagine how much more water comes through there – all of it funneling down the granite and ramming directly into this overhang (left) and then getting redirected to the one egress point (upper-left).

In fact – that’s a good idea – note to self: schedule a hiking/camping trip is to be next spring back to Glen Aulin.
