Burney Creek – Burney State Park

Just past the waterfall a stream forms and carries through the valley off into the woods. I climbed out into what became a precarious position and made this image. The total exposure was about 1 minute with a light(ish) neutral density over the lens. If it weren’t for the mosquitoes i could have stayed out there all day shooting that stream.
Over here at eBokeh we’re gearing up for what is sure to be an interesting weekend hiking through the high-sierra camps at Yosemite. We have a specific destination which i referenced the other day.
I bring it up again as tonight we spent a few minutes and got all of our gear together, packed the packs – you know, all of that stuff that should be done in advance of hitting the trail. We’ll be staying for 2 nights and of course have to hike in everything we’ll need. (If i didn’t need all of this heavy German glass things might be a little different – anyway, i’m looking forward to it and hope that my backpack holds up to what should be a legitimate workout)
I don’t know if you caught it or not, but on the cover New York Times this past Sunday there was a story featuring some fantastic photography by Damon Winter.
As you can see, Winter likes the full-frame square images with edge intact and the Times ran them all just the way he wanted, which happens to be the same way we like it around here.
