Fallen Tree Stump near May Lake – YNP
Posted By John Chabalko on September 23rd, 2007
This is the stump of a fallen tree, the part that when the tree was healthy and living was facing directly downwards. The size of it is immense. I remember last year joking that it would make a great fireplace mantle as it’s about 12 feet wide and 8 feet tall.
The complexity of the root structure is what drew me over to it this time with the roots running this way and that. I shot a few more frames of some of the detail that i’ll post in a few days.
