It was about 7am and about 30 degrees F. The frozen fog was just starting to dissipate from the valley floor as the sun started to warm the air. There was a group of climbers maybe 25% of the way up the face of El Capitan. It’s been a while since we’ve watched the climbers but if you stand still you can hear them talking as clearly as if they were down the block from you. Higher up on the face were some other groups just getting out of their tents to restart the day.
